COUNTY/CITY PROGRAM
Animal Friends would like to work with County/City officials on the problem of pet overpopulation and offers the following program to the following counties and cities within these counties: Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Colorado, Fayette, Grimes, Lee, Leon, Madison, Matagorda, Milam, Robertson, Waller, Wharton and Washington. Animal Friends has performed over 10,000 spays/neuters since opening the Clinic in June of 2008.
Animal Friends will match any County/City on a 1:1 basis up to $1,500 total for spay/neuter surgeries to be performed at Animal Friends – Connie Clinic, Brenham Texas.
The portion of the spay/neuter paid by the County/City (50%), at the County/City’s discretion, can be supplemented by charging the recipient up to 1/2 of the cost paid by the County/City. This program is not subject to any income level, and is available to male and female dog and cat pets. It is not available for shelter or rescue groups.
Depending upon the mix of animals we are able to average 50 animals in one day. It may be in the interest of the County/City to have a (name your County/City) DAY with all animals serviced in one day. Often a local auto dealer/individual will provide a van(s) so several animals can be transported together saving on gas costs.
The County/City responsibility is to:
- Advertise the program
- Select the recipients for this program on whatever basis the County/City decides.
- Surgeries will need to be prepaid. (Administration to be worked out Between County/City and Animal Friends.)
All animals must be current on their rabies vaccination or will be vaccinated at the time of surgery and charged for that service at the time of intake. The grant does not cover this cost.
